Bates Insurance Group was founded in September of 1988. Edward Bates, CEO and founder, had a vision to help smaller businesses with the employee benefit challenges that they face. Through previous ownership of a third party administrator, he realized that he could help smaller, more vulnerable businesses by using his personal experience and expertise. Bates Insurance Group was created to cater to businesses that do not have the resources to manage their own benefit solutions.
